Favorite Logos + My Logo

This is the logo for Apple Inc.
Despite their overpriced products, I'm a big Apple/Mac/iPhone lover.
I love this logo a lot because of it's design based on the Golden Ratio.
This is the logo for he World Wildlife Fund.
I love high-contrast logos/images,
and my favorite animal is a panda.
And finally, the logo I designed for myself using my initials.
This is heavily based on the logo I used on my Resume for college applications,
though I changed the bright blue to a subdued pink.
I debated on having the lettering connect with the edging or not,
but I liked it better than the thin line between.

Liquified Fun

Today we worked with the liquify tool and other filters.
I started out with some pink circles on a blue background,
then I liquified it to swirl it around and bring the edges in and filled the background in green.
After that I took a picture of a cupcake I took (originally purple)
and I added a hue/saturation switch to make it green and blue,
added a photo filter, and increased the shadow. After that I applied liquify and viola!

iPhone Case Designs

Today our assignment was to work on iPhone cases for the PhotoshopCAFE Design Contest.
Here are the two cases I designed.
This was originally a picture of a Parrot that I took at the Fort Worth Zoo.
I applied an artistic cutout filter, adjusted the shadows, hues, HDR toning, and brightness/contrast.

This is actually a picture of a tree I drew on the back of homework in either 6th or 7th grade.
I scanned and drew it into photoshop and tried to keep the drawing feel of the original art.
I applied a pink gradient background to make the tree really pop.

Yearbook Cover - My Design

Front cover, binding, and back of my cover concept.
This design includes space for pictures of RCHS students
(as chosen by the Yearbook staff) to be "greened out" and featured
on the cover. Colors came out a little more intense than expected, but
I think that this simple design can easily embody what our yearbook will be
while including a little bit of a professional flow.
This was my idea for what the inside pages could look like.
the whited out center would provide a place for pictures and
the black boarder would provide a nice contrast to the pictures.

Yearbook Covers

Well, the theme of the 2013 RCHS Yearbook is "Movies," but here are a few designs that I thought would be cool despite that.
I thought this would be cool with Richland Green

I REALLY love this cover. I thought it would be cool to have students  have input in what they think you should "be" in the RCHS program.

My Three Words - Photo Collages

Enjoy - Rule of 3rds (Or Asymmetry)

Grow - Radial Symmetry

Prioritize - Symmetry

Grow & Enjoy - Rule of Thirds [Extra Credit]

Headshot Editing

First Picture. Not to shabby, eh?
Second. Threw in some edits. Look at those black zits! What happened??
Darken, Multiply, and some other fancy changes. (Black zits still? Ew!)

My final product. Black zits, gone! A little bit of painting going on, and a happy smile! :)

Three Words for 2013

Inspired by the resolution standard of blogger Chris Brogan, I have decided on my three words to "revolutionize" 2013.

Enjoy
Especially when embodied by the RCHS program, I have a tendency to get stressed out and over organize my life, not really living it. Before I know it I'm into the exact same routine every day. This word is to inspire me to take it slow and live life while I'm still young.

Grow
This year I'd like to spend my time growing, not just one way or another. I seek to grow spiritually in my relationship with God, grow my friendships (make new friends, but keep the old), and and grow in my maturity as I prepare to go to "big girl college" in the fall.

Prioritize
I had a rough time in 2012 prioritizing. I would stay up late making cupcakes for a friend instead of doing the homework assignment due the next day, or go hang out with friends instead of taking care of a major project. This year I seek to prioritize my life and set things straight.
